Niisha of Secrets

Titles: Our Collected Hell, A River Running Backwards, Sanity’s Antithesis

Material Form: Niisha's material form is a column of translucent darkness, inside of which is the barely-visible shape of a humanoid figure. This is contained within an iron cage, which the figure inside writhes against in an apparent struggle to break free of its prison. With every thrash against the barrier a whisper and shout are both heard, the whisper carrying a secret and the shout trying to drown it out. Hovering above and below the pillar are twin pyramids. It is said that divided amongst the two, all the forgotten secrets of Therma’s universe is contained.

Spells: Rewire Thought Patterns, Invert Reality, Nullify Natural Law, Self-Fulfilling Prophecy, Against All Odds, The Ultimate Lie, Truth Delusion, Horror of Horrors, Unravel, You Don’t Want to Know, Mind Slitter, Blessing of the Madman, Fool, Upset the Vessel, Primordial Eruption, Pillars of Black Light, Forget, Sever the String, Shiver

Brief Description: Niisha is thought of as one of Cil’kyrn and Uy’la’loar‘s two children. He is Jandfirv‘s younger brother, as knowledge had to exist before there could be those who would attempt to keep knowledge secret. He is closely attached to the other seven deities, but particularly his father, mother, and brother. He and Jandfirv share a symbiotic sort of relationship, with each one freely sharing what they know with the other. There are things Niisha knows, however, which he does not tell his brother not out of spite but rather because of mercy. It is doubtlessly true that many of the secrets Niisha is privy to are unpleasant and psyche-destroying in nature.

Whereas Jandfirv is more easy-going and akin to his mother, Niisha more closely resembles his father Uy’la’loar in both mindset and to a lesser extent his pitch-dark material form. Niisha finds it easy to relate to the wronged and hurt, and bears a degree of calm empathy which does much to make him a relatable Deity.

Niisha's mind is a curious sort of ordered insanity. In his dealings with mortals he frequently describes it as “shattered by design”, indicating it is only because he is insane that he can still function despite knowing what he knows. The reason the Seven dwell in the Ever-Dying Forest is in fact because any other universe would start to decay due to the logical impossibilities of all the conflicting secrets and forbidden truths he knows.

Sanity's Antithesis takes an interest in the insane which at times seems almost like paternal pride. He has often said that insanity is the closest a mortal mind can come to perceiving the world in the same way a god does. Niisha even goes so far as to think of a worshipper who deals with mental illness as being blessed with a different variety of understanding, one which can manifest itself in delightfully unusual ways. Naturally, many mortals would disagree with this assessment, but Niisha considers himself above the enmity of such petty creatures.

Devoted Monk’s Item: A normally unreadable slip of paper called a Memento, on which is written the greatest secret of the monk of the Seven who crafted it. When it is held over a flame it does not burn but rather produces a black smoke. When breathed in, this smoke acts as a trigger for a sort of astral projection, during which they can project their perceptions across time and space.

Holy Symbol: A broken lock

Spheres: Secret and Forbidden Knowledge, Insanity, The Insane, Freedom, Burdens, Curiosity, Prophecy
